W00t we switched!

We switched over to pebble

We have now switched over to using Pebble as the back-end for the Folknology blog.

After much experimentation and deliberation we chose Pebble to run Folknology's blogging back-end. It's main benefits are Wordpress like functionality with a Java back-end enabling us to mash it up a little.

Wow that was quick, I'm impressed...

Re: Woot we switched!

Not only was it quick to make the decesion, but actually implement it.

Re: Woot we switched!

How did you find Pebble, is it easier than JRoller?

Re: Woot we switched!

Much much quicker and simpler, I very impressed so far.

Re: W00t we switched!

Excellent, well done. Any chance this was related to my recommendation?

I'll have to ping Simon and let him know you've using pebble.<style type="text/css"></style>

Re: W00t we switched!

Yup this is entirely your doing Andy, based on your suggestion and a quick analysis of pebble, Thank you, thank you. I even mention you in my first podcast.

PS If it goes wrong I may hold you entirely responsible ;)

Re: W00t we switched!

Incidentally, any plans to import the content of your old blog? I'm also wondering whether the feeds that Pebble generates allow you to expose the comments (as Wordpress does).

Not sure what to do here yet, in the meantime I keep the archive go to :
http://www.folknology.com/archive.html
All of the older content is linked to there and the permalinks still work for older articles.

You will have to be more specific, but there is a seperate feed for the comments, so you can track them, either by individual post or for the whole blog. I do not intent to support the email functionality, I need to make this clear, just haven't gotten around to it yet. I dislike the email functionality and prefer rss feeds
I will post this up shortly, as am playing with and experimenting as we speak

Al
